  • Serve – Save – Survive, water rescue program brought to light

    The 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department innovated new ways for their first responders to serve our populace along the coast and in the water. According to Alani Coleman, 30th CES fire fighter and water rescue teammate, at any time Vandenberg beaches can have anywhere from 150 to 200 people. With 14 years’ experience here, Coleman has earned his share of learning opportunities that along with others have created a better program.
  • Leadership Excursion; History in all terrain

    Members from 30th Space Wing visit different sections of the base Nov. 4, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The purpose of the tour was for the 30th Security Forces Squadron to show base leadership specific assets, historical sites and remote areas on base. These areas included historical landmarks, such as Chumash paintings, buildings from early 1900’s, and a shelter that families would use during launches.

    Prior to the 30th Space Wing change of command ceremony, scheduled for July 12, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., Hough reflects on the past 2 years. Serving as the base commander since July 2017, Hough oversaw countless changes and improvements across the installation. With the help of more than 2,500 people throughout 15 squadrons that he commands, 25 space assets were launched from Vandenberg AFB, accomplishing the 30th Space Wing mission as well as contributing towards the nation’s space superiority.
