Vandenberg Air Force Base members wait for President Donald Trump to sign the National Defense Authorization Act Dec. 20, 2019, at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. The NDAA established a sixth branch of the armed forces – the United States Space Force. The U.S. Space Force is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force.
