Are private group tours available?
Private tours are offered Monday through Thursday for groups of 15 or more. Reservations can be made by calling (805) 606-3595. Callers will be asked to provide basic information regarding the requested tour including: number of attendees, transportation arrangements, time available, meal requirements and contact information. Children must be 10 years old to attend a tour.
No later than two weeks prior to the requested tour date, the group point of contact must provide the full names and either a Social Security number or driver's license number and date of birth of each person attending the tour.
Depending on the focus of the tour and group type, requests can include visits to the Korean War Memorial, the Minuteman Memorial, the Space & Missile Heritage Center, South Vandenberg's commercial space launch complexes, the fire department and other places of interest.
How do I sign up for a tour of the base?
Public base tours are offered through the Public Affairs office the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance and can be made by calling (805) 606-3595. No walk-ons are accepted the day of the tour.
Callers must provide their full name, telephone number and either their Social Security number or driver's license number and date of birth. Children must be at least 10 years old to attend a base tour.
Tour attendees should arrive at the Main Gate Visitor Control Center by 9:45 a.m. for check-in. Tours conclude around 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival at the VCC, tour attendees on the reservations list must present one form of photo ID to be permitted on the Air Force tour bus.
Tours can be cancelled when mission requirements dictate.
I used to live on base when I was a kid. Can I get a pass for the day to visit the old neighborhood?
Vandenberg Air Force Base is designated as a closed installation. Those without base access credentials may only enter the base when they are sponsored by authorized personnel. However, base tours are available.
My father has a brick in his name on the Korean War Memorial. Can I get a pass to visit the memorial?
