Team of Excellence~The 30 SW Chapel Staff
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Vandenberg Chapel Team is recognized for earning the 2011 Air Force Space Command Large Chapel Team award. The chapel team works to improve the lives of Airmen and families. In 2011 Team V chaplains and chaplain assistants led 4,100 counseling sessions and 6,400 hours connecting with units around base. The team also led 408 worship services serving 18,500 worshippers, an increase of 12 percent from the previous year. The chapel also saw an increase in religious education classes, up 32 percent. The team hosted multiple religious and community programs including a Fall Festival with 62 volunteers for 595 people and a Vacation Bible School where more than 250 children participated. They also distributed 2,000 pounds of donations valued at $31,000. Please join Col. Nina Armagno, 30th Space Wing commander, in congratulating this Team of Excellence, the 30th SW Chapel Team!
