Services Focus Day showcases barbecue bonanza

During 30th Services Focus Day, Airmen, their families and civilians sample Santa Maria-style barbecue tri-tip before the judges' taste test for the Vandenberg Ultimate Tri-tip Challenge March 15. Wing commander, chief have breakfast with Airmen

Col. Stephen Tanous, 30th Space Wing commander, and Command Chief Timothy Gordon, 30th Space Wing command chief, chat with 20 Airmen who were chosen to eat breakfast with the new wing commander at Breakers Dining Facility, March 22. The breakfast gave wing leadership the chance to answer Airmen’s questions such as those that pertain to cost of living allowance, base gas prices and eligibility to move off base for junior enlisted. In December 2006, a question raised during the breakfast affected the entire Department of Defense, when a Vandenberg Airmen brought her concern about the Child Development Center to wing leadership.
