VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A wildland fire that began about 12:30 p.m. on North base was 100 percent contained at 3:45 p.m according to Vandenberg Fire Department officials here Saturday, Nov 10, 2012.. 11/10/2012 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A 127 acre wildland fire that began about 12:30 p.m. Saturday here on North base was 100 percent contained at 3:45 p.m. according to Vandenberg Fire Department officials.

Fire crews were on scene mopping up the site of the fire.

Local agencies assisting VFD included Los Padres National Forest Service, Santa Barbara County, Lompoc City and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

"We activated our mutual aid partners and local air resources," said Wayne Seda,  Vandenberg assistant fire chief. "We worked together to quickly gain 100 percent  containment of this fire and kept our people and structures safe."

Fire investigators were on scene.
