The Veterans Stand Down was organized to provide a single place for homeless and nearly-homeless veterans to receive a wide variety of personal assistance. At least 250 veterans benefited from the services which included hot showers, haircuts, new clothing, medical and dental check-ups, financial assistance, legal services, family support, Department of Veterans Affairs information and much more.
