10/12/2012 - Chief Petty Officer William Loggins, a Joint Functional Component Command for Space member, rings a bell during the U.S. Navy's 237th Birthday celebration here Friday, Oct 12, 2012. Currently a modern force of 287 ships and more than 3,700 aircraft, our Navy was created in 1775 with the establishment of the Continental Navy to sail against British merchant ships.
