8/24/2012 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team V members participated in a special event with the P90X creator at the fitness center here Aug. 22.
Tony Horton and his training crew have teamed up with Armed Forces Entertainment for the "Ripped and Ready" tour of American military installations worldwide.
"I know that a lot of folks in the military have a lot of stresses and strains and they struggle like anybody else," said Horton. "This is my opportunity to show them how they can get fit and how they can sustain their fitness and how they can make improvement when it comes to their diet."
The P90X crew offered base members an opportunity to work out during a morning and an afternoon session.
"It's always great to have people like that show support for the troops and go to different bases and provide these morale raising events for us," said Staff Sgt. Corin Dolson, a 30th Security Forces Squadron member. "I had a great time."
More than 200 base members attended.
"I have been thinking about P90X for a while and I took this as a sign to come and look at it," said Airman 1st Class Garrett Oats, a 30th Civil Engineer Squadron electrician. "I liked the work out, it's something new and I had fun."
Growing up as a military child, Horton finds it important to give back where he can to the military.
"If a bit gets across to various military members I'm thrilled," said Horton. "I think it's an honor to be here, especially at Vandenberg, it is an awesome place to be."
