4/26/2012 - he 30th Operations Support Squadron's Weather Flight has overcome numerous challenges this past year to win the 2011 Air Force Space Command Outstanding Weather Organization of the Year Award. They started last year as the 30th Weather Squadron and was later inactivated and moved into the 30 OSS as the weather flight. They shined during the Air Force weather evaluations by earning an ‘excellent’ rating and an ‘outstanding performer’. This 13-member flight supported 1,500 daily operations, won four group level, nine squadron quarterly awards, had one group annual award winner, operated 272 weather sensors and issued 2,291 weather products for the base. They've supported nine launches valued at $5.6 billion dollars which helped them win the 2011 AFSPC Outstanding Weather Organization of the Year award. Please join Col. Nina Armagno, the 30th Space Wing commander by congratulating this dynamic team, this Team of Excellence, the 30 OSS Weather Flight! (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Andrew Satran)
