4/26/2012 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -  -- The United States Air Force Academy Band's Blue Steel is scheduled to present three free concerts at venues along the central coast: Thursday, May 3 at 5:30 p.m. at Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach; Saturday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Santa Maria Fairpark; and Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande.

The events are family-friendly and open to the public.

"Blue Steel's versatile performers capture audiences with pop music, classic rock, country music and original compositions," said Larry Hill, 30th Space Wing community relations chief. "Whether at a high school gymnasium, large concert hall, national sporting event or on a flight line in the desert, Blue Steel creates the ideal atmosphere for any performance venue or setting."

The group of seven elite musicians has traveled throughout the nation to perform for community events, schools and military celebrations and has deployed to several countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti and Haiti.
