Lompoc Elks Lodge to honor Vandenberg Airmen

4/18/2012 - LOMPOC, Calif.  -- Members of the Lompoc Elks Lodge are scheduled to present Outstanding Performance Awards and the Elks Valor Award for public safety to three Vandenberg Airmen April 19 in the Lompoc Elks Lodge ballroom starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Lompoc Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler, Sylvia Boynton, is scheduled to award Staff Sgt. Isaac Lotero, a 30th Security Forces Squadron patrolman, with the Elks Valor Award for saving a life.

Lotero rescued an individual  from drowning, brought him to shore and attended to him medically until the medics arrived and took him to the hospital.

Lompoc Elks Lodge members have chosen to also honor Staff Sgt. Brandon Johnson, a 30th SFS crime prevention officer, and Staff Sgt. Anthony Montano, a 30th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, with Outstanding Performance Awards.

Additional Outstanding Performance Awards will be presented to Officer Leonel G. Garza Jr., Firefighter Engineer John Moore, Officer Jeanne-Marie Malone, Elpidio J. Garcia, Deputy Wayne Flick, Firefighter Bjorn Hanson, Investigator Tim Roberts and Deputy Probation Officer Alejandra Hernandez.

This is the 10th year the Lompoc Elks have honored local public servants.
