1/18/2012 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – Airman 1st Class Zachary Baldenegro, a 30th Security Forces Squadron conservation officer, cleans the horseshoe of Six Eagle during a daily regimen here Friday, Jan. 13, 2012. The horseshoe is made of a rubber composite that prevents severe cuts, reduces fatigue and provides adequate protection for the horse’s foot. Six Eagle is one of the horses assigned to the Mounted Horse Patrol unit here. It is the only one of its kind in the entire Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Scottie T. McCord)
