11/29/2011 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.  -- Holiday preparation can be difficult when a loved one is serving overseas, but giving those who are far away a care package from home this season is easier thanks to the Airman and Family Readiness Center here.

Anyone with base access may use the care package center, which offers a variety of items including games, toiletries and snacks.

"If you have a co-worker, friend or family member overseas, you are welcome to come in during duty hours and use donated items to build a care package," said Molly Dzitko, A&FRC noncommissioned officer in charge. "Some also choose to bring in a loved one's favorite snack or a homemade gift to add to the package."

Filled packages should then be taken to the post office at the identification card holder's discretion.

Priority mail and first-class mail needs to be sent by Dec. 12 to reach the Middle East before the holiday season. Priority mail reaching other APO addresses needs to be sent before Dec. 3.

For more information call Tech. Sgt. Molly Dzitko at 606-0039.
