8/25/2011 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.  -- A vehicle accident occurred at Vandenberg's main gate at approximately 10:54 a.m. Aug. 25.

A Chevrolet Astro popped up on the curb and struck the bollards at the main gate's entry control guard building.

The driver of the vehicle was injured and transferred to the Marian Medical Center of Santa Maria.

The main gate was closed temporarily, but has since been reopened for regular traffic.

The accident is under investigation.
