8/3/2011 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Vandenberg is scheduled to host a Senior Noncommissioned Officer's Induction Ceremony at the Pacific Coast Club here beginning at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5.
"The seminar is designed to provide newly selected master sergeants with an in-depth view of their increased supervisory, leadership and managerial responsibilities," said Master Sgt. Scott Munden, Vandenberg's Career Assistance advisor. "Enlisted, officer and civilian volunteers across the wing lead discussions on various topics and resources to provide assistance in making the transition to SNCO status more effective."
The ceremony will begin with a social gathering at 5:30 p.m., which will lead into dinner at 6:30 p.m.
The featured PCC dinner menu for the evening will include two choices for the attendees: top sirloin with piped sweet potatoes or chicken picatta with tri-color pasta. Cost is $33 for PCC members and $35 for non-members.
"The purpose of the SNCO Induction Ceremony is twofold: First, to formally recognize Airmen as they transition from the NCO tier to the SNCO tier, and secondly, to afford leadership, peers and family the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishment," said Master Sgt. Christine Herrera, the event's co-chairman for invitations and seating.
Chief Master Sgt. Frank Fidani, Joint Functional Component Command for Space chief enlisted advisor, will be the ceremony's guest speaker.
The designated attire for attendees of the ceremony is mess dress for military members and semi-formal dress for civilians.
The seminar will culminate with a formal ceremony honoring each of the newly selected master sergeants.
