7/15/2011 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.  -- Vandenberg's Main Exchange celebrated its grand opening here July 15, offering Vandenberg shoppers their first glimpse at the newly renovated facility.

The renovations made to the facility were quite extensive to include the lighting, floors and a completely new check out area.

Col. Richard Boltz, 30th Space Wing commander, participated in the ribbon cutting event with Krista Weister, Vandenberg Army Air Force Exchange general manager, to open the Base Exchange to the public.

"We are hoping that with the new construction that we get better quality merchandise so that we can shop here versus going into town," said Constance Zatorski, a Vandenberg family member. "I'd rather shop here."

Shoppers can now benefit from an expanded clothing line as well as new products in the electronics section.

"Shop our Exchange," said Donna Kubick, AAFES Sales and Merchandise manager, "where you save and we give back."
