7/1/2010 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.  -- The Lompoc Gate is scheduled to reopen July 7 after completion of a six month security upgrade project here.

Motorists are advised to use extra precaution when entering or leaving through this gate as they become familiar with the new security features installed.

Automobiles will use the left lane; trucks will use the right lane. Incoming trucks will need to use the new vehicle inspections facility and its associated truck lanes. Trucks that are not allowed onto the base will be directed to use the new truck turnaround area to exit the base.

Additionally, effective July 2 the Titan Gate will no longer be available for use.
