Vandenberg Air Force Base Pharmacy Fact Sheet

Pharmacy Contact Information: You can contact a staff member at the pharmacy by calling 606-7440 or reach our telephone refill line at 605-0200. Prescriptions can be faxed into the Pharmacy by civilian providers for non-controlled medications.

Hours of operation: The pharmacy is open from 0730-1630 for prescription pick-up & 0730-1615 for prescription drop off Monday-Friday. It is closed on weekends, training days and federal holidays.

Tricare Mail Order Pharmacy: The mail order pharmacy can provide a 90 day supply of medication with minimal out-of-pocket expense and deliver them to your door with-in 14 days. Log on to www.express-scripts.com/Tricare or call 1-877-363-1303 for more information.

Activating in-house provider prescriptions: After visiting your provider, you will need to check-in with the pharmacy to activate your prescription; they will not automatically be filled. Please take a number at the ticket kiosk located in the pharmacy lobby and wait for your number to be called. If you leave the area after taking your number or miss the calling of your number, you may be asked to take another ticket.

Prescription Drop-off: Please verify that the pharmacy stocks the medication your provider prescribed by contacting our staff at 606-7440 or checking the online formulary. You will need to take a number at the ticket kiosk located in the pharmacy lobby and wait for your number to be called. If you leave the area after taking your number or miss the calling of your number, you may be asked to take another ticket.

Alternate prescription Activation or Drop-off option: The clinic now has a prescription drop box located in front of the main entrance. Patrons can activate their in-house provider prescriptions or drop off their civilian prescriptions and pick-up them up in two duty days. Envelopes with the information needed to processes the order are available next to the drop box.

Prescription Pick-up: To pick-up your own medication, you will need to show your military ID card. When picking up medication for another adult age 18 or older, you will need to have their military ID card and an authorization letter stating you can pick-up their medication signed by the patient. Patrons have 10 duty days to pick-up their prescriptions before they are put back to stock.

Formulary Listing:  The formulary lists all the medications our pharmacy stocks and is updated quarterly. Our Formulary is now available online! See the link on the 30th Medical Group webpage for more details.

Alternate Refill Pick-up option: Your refills can be picked-up at the ScriptCenter machine located at the BX. This option allows you to access your refills on the weekend and longer hours during the week. For refill pick-up at the ScriptCenter you will select option number 1 on the automated telephone refill line, phone number 605-0200. Please note that controlled drugs and refrigerated items have to be picked up at the clinic pharmacy. Contact the pharmacy staff at 606-7440 for information on how to enroll at the ScriptCenter machine.

Automated Refill Telephone number: If you have refills remaining on your prescriptions that are not over 1 year old for non-controlled drugs or over 6 months old for controlled drugs, you can call in your refill to 605-0200. Select option number 1 for pick-up at the ScriptCenter and option number 2 for pick-up at the Clinic pharmacy. Please remember to keep the prescription number from the upper left hand corner of the label on your medication as you will need to enter the number when calling in your refill.

Walk-in Refills: The pharmacy requests patrons use the automated refill line to request medication refills to reduce new prescription processing times. Walk in refills can be done, however priority will remain to those dropping off new prescriptions.

Pharmacy Comment Cards: To help the pharmacy improve our services or to let us know of a good practice, please fill out a comment card after your visit. The comment cards are located on the side of the pharmacy prescription drop-off window, number two. Please provide as much information as possible and how we can improve or continue to excel. The comment card can be placed inside the drop box, also located in window number two, or handed to pharmacy staff.
