COLONEL J. CHRISTOPHER MOSS

Colonel J. Christopher Moss is Commander, 30th Space Wing and Western Range, Vandenberg AFB, California. The wing's forces conduct spacelift and range operations, and support operational and developmental missile system testing for the Department of Defense from the West Coast of the United States. Vandenberg AFB is the only U.S. platform for polar orbit launches and the only location to conduct intercontinental ballistic missile testing without over-flying populated areas.

Colonel Moss received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps after graduating from Purdue University in 1990.  He has served in a variety of air and space operations and staff positions across Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Strategic Command, the Joint Staff and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).  He is a graduate of the USAF Weapons School, the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, and the National Defense Fellows program, where he served in the U.S. Department of State.
